Echocardiogram
Or ‘Echo’ for short, an Echocardiogram graphically outlines the heart’s movement during what is called an “Echo Test”, where a sonographer uses an ultrasound via a handheld device on your chest to then provide imaging of the patient’s heart valves and chambers. Its most vital function is the ability to track the heart’s pumping action.

The Cleveland Clinic provides a further, more in-depth explanation of the uses, needs, and functions of an Echocardiogram as well as what symptoms that may cause you to ask your doctor for one.
